Call it resilience or the Filipino spirit or whatever you want. but the point is, we survive and some of us even find time to pause for the camera even when we're swimming in nasty, murky floodwater. Filipinos are actually no stranger to natural disasters. Filipinos are known for being resilient. We are suitable of recovering, even how strong that disaster is. We conquered those challenges beyond the cleverness of human race. Because of these, we are known to be resilient.
Despite significant damage to infrastructure and agriculture at the hands of Typhoon Yolanda ( Haiyan ), one of the deadliest storms in history, the Philippine Economy is expected to continue growing. In November 2013, Typhoon Yolanda ( Haiyan ) killed 6,100 people displaced 4.1 million ad damaged 1.14 million homes. The short - term effects of Yolanda ( Haiyan ) are impossible to ignore the people who ere affected by the said disaster, spent their Christmas suffering from hunger, depression, malnutrition and no shelter. Many are missing and founded die. We also have the earthquake in Baguio City where in the thousands of people died. There is also the war in Marawi City in Mindanao which lasted for several months. The city was tore down. Many people are affected and many people died. All over the world hoped and prayed for it to last. Thousands of people are suffering from these tragedic happenings but they never gave up with the hope that the sun will rise again.
Being resilient is a trait one must of every person. The resiliency of Filipinos is a trait that we are very proud of. We always smile even during and after a disaster. No one can pull us down. We know how to cover with these kind of happenings. We don't know how to give up. You can see it in our smiles that regardless of what happened, we are still happy that we are alive. That's really how things are. Every Filipino must have the stronger, tougher, smarter and smile. Proud to be Pinoy!!!
